A community for the people behind the infrastructure

EPIC Infra DACH brings together the professionals who design, operate, support and evolve the infrastructure behind Epic at healthcare organizations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Why this community

A stable, secure and high-performing Epic environment depends on close collaboration across many technical disciplines. In the DACH region, Epic is still a young platform, and the specialists who run it are spread across many organizations.

EPIC Infra DACH connects them, so that experience does not stay inside a single hospital.

Founded in August 2026 by Alexander Sociera, Epic-certified ECSA and Epic Consultant, based in Switzerland.

Epic in DACH today

Switzerland
Luzerner Kantonsspital has run Epic since 2019 and Insel Gruppe in Bern since March 2024. Universitätsspital Zürich awarded its contract to Epic in 2025 and plans to go live in 2028 at the earliest. In Vaud, the cantonal parliament approved funding in September 2026 for Epic at CHUV and eleven regional hospitals. Kinderspital Zürich awarded its contract to Epic in 2023; its financing and a joint setup with USZ are still open.
Germany
Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin has chosen Epic and plans to complete the rollout by the end of 2029.
Austria
To our knowledge, no hospital has chosen Epic yet.

As of October 2026, based on public reports.
